Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, states that the Deputies can correct the Law on increasing the Excise Duty for Tobacco Goods, Alcoholic Beverages, and Petrol till 1 June
Having met the heads of the district state administration in Kyiv on Wednesday, V.Lytvyn stated that according to the report of the Central Judicial Office of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, the parliament members had voted for one amendment to this Law twice, both votes being positive. Thus, the Law shall be correspondingly specified.
The Head of the Parliament believes that the Law requires further drafting in the profile committee and the judicial office.
"I suppose that this Law should be put to the vote on Tuesday, because I am demanded to forward this Law for signing as soon as possible", V.Lytvyn stated. He also made it a point that the text of the Law must be compared with the verbatim records to meet the results of the vote at the Parliament.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also stated that the Parliament shall scrutinize the Fundamentals of the Budget Policy for 2011 in the beginning of June.
He informed about the preliminary agreements that the Parliament should adopt the Budget and the Tax Codes before the current session is concluded for the Cabinet of Ministers to draft a budget till 15 September and bring it forward before Parliament.
